“MY THREE FRIENDS” WITH AUTHOR LINDA EDDLESTON

On January 13th, The Friends of the Seaside Library welcome local author, Linda Eddleston.

My Three Friends is a coming-of-age tale told with charm and delight.

Eddleston’s memoir is the account of four young girls who meet in Portland, Oregon in the 1950s.

She describes the choices, successes, trials, tragedies and, most of all, enduring friendships of four women, framed by the events from decades past.

From a third grader’s demand, “Why me? It’s your brother’s pigeon coop,” through broken arms and broken hearts, separations and reunions, and a last walk on a beach, “My Three Friends” reminds the reader what it was like to be young … and to grow together.

(The book also includes Linda’s summer experiences in Seaside and will touch on the riot of 1962.)

Although these women came of age in the 1950s and 1960s, their experiences are universal ...  so much so, that even today’s teenagers will appreciate the characters and storyline.

Eddleston is a retired elementary and special education teacher currently living in Longview.

Her work has been published in The Children’s Ministry Magazine, That Holiday Feeling Anthology and in The Daily News.

My Three Friends is her first book.

Book sales and signings will follow the event.
