Do you like to draw?  Like birds?

Usher in the spring season by drawing portraits of our finely feathered friends.

Join local artist and illustrator, Dorota Haber-Lehigh, for our “Mini Bird Drawing Class."

Participants will create a whimsical bird portrait using colored pencils on walnut ink paper.

Bring a reference photo, or two, of the bird you wish to draw.

The class opens with a foundation sketch. Participants will proceed to to transfer their image and layer gentle colors using artist pencils.

With Dorota's step-by-step guidance, anyone can learn the intricacies of bird portraiture.

Loose texture application and color blending will emphasized.

(There will be the option to use watercolor or gouache as the foundation for your bird, so please bring a set of watercolors or gouache if you already have one).

All other materials will be provided including watercolor pencils and gouache.

Dorota Haber-Lehigh received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pacific University with a focus on printmaking and art history.

She designed, illustrated and published the children’s books, “ABC of Native Plants of the Coastal Pacific Northwest”  and "Creatures of Haystack Rock."
